ニコール・ネリウスは、多分野にわたる独学のアーティストです。カナダ生まれで、現在はオーストラリア、ニューサウスウェールズ州オースティンマーに在住し制作しています。「この作品は、提出のために特別に描いたものです。マヨルカの果物や植物、ホテル・ボンソルのシグネチャーイエロー、そして地中海の青緑色に触発されました。キャンバスに描かれた太陽の光です。」
ニコールは、ホテル・ボンソルとのコラボレーションによるグローバルアーティスト公募から選ばれた2名のレジデンシー受賞者の1人で、900件以上の応募の中から選ばれました。9月にマヨルカへ渡航し、ホテル・ボンソルで5週間のアーティストレジデンシーに参加します。
